Nowadays, in engineering computer-aided design area, especially the harbor engineeringdesign area, designers mainly use2-dimensional computer-aided design software to designthe engineer drawings. This makes the schedule of engineering design a lot of problems, suchas bad intuition, hardness in modification and maintaining, huge calculation on quantities,huge works on checking, and so on. Now, shortage of traditional engineering drawing designis more and more acute each day. In this article, and2&3-dimensinal automatic drawingsystem is proposed. This drawing system is reformed from the traditional2-dimensionaldrawing system, dealing with the urgent problems in traditional drawing system. This drawingsystem can make the engineering design schedule easier than before, and give the engineeringdrawing better explanation ability.This article gives the introduction of the drawing module of Harbor Integrative DesigningApplication System (HIDAS) and its design and realizing. HIDAS drawing system is anengineering computer-aid designing drawing system, based on HOOPS graphic displayingsystem and ACIS3-dimensional graphic constructor. HIDAS drawing system implements thefunctions of traditional2-dimensional drawing system, and it adds2&3-dimensional displayform and automatic drawing generating function into its operations. These make theexplanation of drawing more acute than the traditional drawing systems and make thedrawing design schedule more effective.The2&3dimensions integrative display mode of HIDAS drawing system means that thedrawing system can import three dimensional models and create two dimensional graphicelements in the same drawing view. In the integrative drawing view, users can change theperspective of the3-dimensional drawing, and create2-dimensional descriptions in the sametime. The automatic part of HIDAS drawing system includes creating cutting sections,creating projection, creating sketch and calculating the quantities of a3D model. Thementioned functions fit most of the requirements of engineering drawing design, such ascreating three views, specific views, creating description tables, and modification ofengineering design. Meanwhile, by establishing a drawing model library, the system can dothe similar drawing design works instead of engineer designers, which makes it moreeffective in designing works. Above, HIDAS drawing system is a2&3-dimensional automatic drawing system. It hasthe advantage of diverse explanation modes, high performance in creating drawings, precisionin quantities calculation, and so on. HIDAS drawing system can release the engineeringdesigners from hard designing works, and improves the quality of engineer drawings.However, there are still many problems in this drawing system, such as bad performance indisplay, weak description ability for the three dimensional models. For the coming researchwork, to achieve a high performance system and to add improve dimensional descriptionabilities are the most essential work for HIDAS drawing system.
