Vectorization of engineering drawing is the base of drawing understanding, general way of which is first scan drawing into computer, then automatically convert raster image to vector image through algorithm of vectorization. High productivity can he obtained by this way, but precision remains to be improved. During long-term study and research, it is found that the automatic approach combined with manual not only obtain comparatively high productivity but also precision. In past years, many algorithms have been proposed, some of which focus on global, and some of which focus on local, both of them produced some effects, but they are far from practical usage. This is due to diversity and complexity of applications. This paper presents an approach based on image thinning, tracing and line fitting to vectorized engineering drawing, and proposes a new method to revise node which are subject to error.
