Database Management System For Environmental Management College’s Research And Implementation

With the rapid developments of the education, Colleges and universities hold animportant position to cultivate the future builders and excellent talents of our country.Especially, in order to carry out the education development plan for the Twelfth Five-YearPlan. Colleges and universities must make more reforms, such as adjusting the structuresof specialties, reforming the training patterns, changeing certain management practices,expanding the scale of schools and so on. With the so many changes, there is a significantalteration in the range of archives. The types of archives increase more and more, therange of them constantly enlarges and the number of them continuous increases. So it asksthe archives managers to change the traditional ways of the management, build a specialand digital database for archive information and realize the modernly management.First, the characteristics of the special database management in archives of theuniversities are analysed; the special archive database management system based on threelayers of C/S structure is proposed, this system includes the management module ofsystems, users information, basic information, registration information, recruitmentinformation, staff information, news information, real matters files, audio and videoinformation, full text documents and scientific payoffs information, eleven modules intotal.Second, this paper gives the key technologies of establishing the system andimplementing the processes of informatization. The key technologies base on the recessivenamed of database,and the tool of database is Oracle11.0. The tables of students,admissions, staff, real matter files and so on, eleven in total are desined, the eightdimensions reports, including the design of overview, interface, data lists, initialization,query, the input, modification and remove, save are completed, what’more, the referenceof template development mode, the principle of the programming specification, therealization of the stored procedure and the method of system test are discussed in turn.Finally, this paper describes the running situations of the special databasemanagement system in universities, the system has been successfully applied in archivesof Environmental Management College of China, recognized by the users, greatlyimproving the efficiency of the work in archives.
