| In recent years, repeated exposure of academic misconduct has become thecenter of people’s attention. This phenomenon not only occurs in the scientificcommunity, but also in education field, even in university graduate students.Academic misconduct has been a heated issue in academic session for a long time, butmost cases are based on professional researchers. Research for academic misconducton graduate students began to appear until2009. Graduate education is an importantpart of higher education and it is one of the main ways to train future talents of ourcountry in scientific and technological area and the quality of graduate training isdirectly related to the level of future of social and technological development of ourcountry. Graduate training and management is an important part of universitymanagement. Graduate management, especially management of academic misconductof graduates is a core component. Academic misconduct will affect the quality andintegrity of post-graduates, and it will diminish the development of postgraduate.Therefore, to carry out the research of graduate student academic misconduct, notonly can enrich theoretical research achievements of academic misconduct, but alsohelps to understand the characteristics and reasons of the graduate student academicmisconduct. For strengthen the graduate student management and prevention ofgraduate student academic misconduct provides some references.This study explored performances, causes and coping strategies of misconduct ofgraduate students through literature, through the questionnaire of the "graduatestudent academic misconduct", selected from Beijing and hunan university584graduate students has carried on the questionnaire survey, fund the experiencesummary and questionnaire. Graduate students misconduct are found mainly in fourareas: research plagiarism, academic fraud, unlimited submission and improperreferences. Graduate academic misconduct is mainly caused by three reasons. Thefirst one is their own reasons, who have poor study attitudes, low academic researchcapacities and insufficient knowledge of academic norms, which is the main reason.The second one is academic atmosphere, which includes the impact of network and the social climate. The third one is academic management system, which includes theunreasonable evaluation system of postgraduate, the poor supervision of some tutors,the unsound management mechanism of graduates and the improper punishmentmechanism of academic misconduct.In response, the attention of prevention of graduate academic misconduct shouldbe paid to the following three areas: Firstly, to improve postgraduates’ academicattitude and ability through the improvement of ethical standards in scientific research,in order to raise the scientific research ability and the academic moral level. Secondly,invest more disseminate of scientific spirit, decontamination the Internet environmentand create a trustworthiness ethos of society to shape a well academic environmentfor graduate students. Thirdly, strictly implement the regulations for the academicethics of graduate student, and mentors have to strengthen the supervision of theacademic ethics for the graduate student, though the intensify punishment of academicmisconduct, raise the cost of violation of academic misconduct to put an end to thegeneration of academic misconduct. |
