Ethical Review Of Graduate Academic Misconduct

The college is one of the main places where academic activities happen. As knowledge becomes more and more important in social development, the academic ethos in college becomes one very important reflection of social mainstream consciousness and value. The boom of academy keeps academy developing. The boom of academy reflects the requests of science development and social practice, reflects the history and the progress of times. The academic morality is the basic ethical criterion of academic activities and the self-discipline of academic personnel. Academic morality also guarantees the research ability and academic level. However, as the developing of reform-and-open and the economy has come into a new stage, the academic misconduct becomes common in the field of social culture. Especially in college, there are many academic irregularities, academic misconducts and adverse research atmosphere.The research chooses postgraduate as the research object. Based on the existing achievements and through questionnaire, the research analyses the present situation about academic misconduct among college postgraduates. The research focuses on the contract between academic misconduct and normal moral misconduct. The research discusses the source of academic misconduct from two aspects:the external environment (includes society, college and supervisor) and the internal psychological drive (students’ own reasons). The research uses Ethnics’s reason, impartiality, responsibility, integrity and humanitarianism principle to rectify the behavior from theoretical level. The research comes up with four practice method from four different aspects:social ethos, college’s academic system, supervisors’code of morality and self-discipline of postgraduates.To rectify the academic misconducts is one of the important aspects of college academic morality construction. Only by prevent academic misconducts from happening again can the academic morality and reputation in college be promoted and further more, to promote the whole country’s cultural and ideological progress.
