Nowadays it is the era of knowledge economy with the amount of knowledge of science andtechnology growing geometrically and with the period of knowledge update shortened to two tothree years, which means that the talents training mode of “Teaching Students Knowledge” cannotadapt to the requirements of social development. Therefore, it will be a serious challenge in thefield of education as far as, how to cultivate talents who are good at thinking and dare to explore,and who are creative and agile to solve practical issues comprehensively, is concerned. Of course,each educator has his or her own opinions about how to cope with this challenge. This paper,however, is not primarily to discuss the systematic framework of grappling with this challenge.Rather according to my own teaching experience, the aim is to find an effective practice modefrom the perspective of educational ideas, educational methodology and technical supports andreveal the teaching mode of problem-solving based on the multi-intelligences theory in networkenvironment.Chapter One first includes the research background from three aspects, namely the calling ofthe era, the educational reform and technical supports, then defines the core concepts and alsoconcerns itself with previous researches in relation to the present study at abroad and home.Chapter Two explicates the theories of the paper. Chapter Three, then, reviews the studies of themulti-intelligences theory at abroad and home and the development of the teaching mode of WPBL,which is further expounded and demonstrated under the direction of educational psychology andteaching theories. As far as the teaching mode of WPBL is concerned, this chapter addresses itstheories and thoughts, relationships and structures, environment and resources, and further exploresthe design principles and architecture layers. Chapter Four, based on the previous theories, designsan experimental study platform according to the teaching of the Cultural Basis of Computers forCollege Students. Involving in six typical problems, an eight-week experimental study of WPBLupon the multi-intelligences theory is undertaken, which especially makes full use of network tocreate both the curricular and extracurricular, online and offline learning environment. The data foran initial study are also included in this chapter. Chapter Five analyses the data collected above andobtains the experimental results with the approaches of case study, questionnaires combining with in-depth interviews. On the basis of the results of experiments, chapter five also gives someconstructive suggestions as to WPBL upon the multi-intelligences theory.The present study examines the integration of multiple intelligences and learning based onquestions located in the environment of online classes, which provides insights for practices ofmultiple intelligences education in modern information technology environment.
