It has been more than30years since the standalization of Yi writing system in Sichuan province was first authorized by the state council in1980. And since then it has been implemented in many social fields in Liangshan, Sichuan region, and plays an important part in the economic, political, cultural and social undertakings. The applications of the the standalization of Yi writing system using in education has donated not only to the development of the Yi-Chinese bilingual education, but to the inheritance and preaching of Yi culture.To keep up with knowledge-based economy step, social transformation of Liangshan region has been launched, meanwhile education should not just to fulfill its social responsibility, but to comply with the law between market demand and talents, and to continuously adjust itself to social development pace. Attracting attention, though this measure can bring motion to development of Yi’s education, it also has been causing some subtle hidden dangers.There are numerous of first-hand data and real materials which are relating to the application of the standalization of Yi writing system education in Sichuan province in the past30years have been obtained by the field survey in Xichang and Xide in this article. Based on these, this paper connects means of document data, interview, questionnaire and observation, and in the meantime, quantitative and qualitative research methods supplement each other to focus on the analysis of its historical and realistic situation on the application of the standalization of Yi writing system, together with the attitudes of different groups hold in the educational field. Accordingly, this paper will further assess the existing problems and propose corresponding measures based on the actual conditions in the Yi’s application.This paper consists of six chapters:Chapter one is the introduction. It mainly explains the value and significance of the selection of this topic, and introduces the research contents and methods, meanwhile defines the main concepts of thesis research, and summarizes the current research situation.Chapter two presents the general situation about Yi and the usage of Yi writing system. It also briefly introduces the distribution of the language and population in Sichuan Liangshan, the national languages used in history, and the usage of Yi-Chinese bilingual education.Chapter three mainly introduces the application of the standalization of Yi writing system in educational field. First, it reviews the usage history of Yi in teaching in the past30years. Generally speaking, it can be divided mainly into the trial stage, development stage, descent stage landslides stage, recovery and development stage. Second, by making questionnaire survey for parents, teachers and students, this paper will present the preparation and analysis of the reality from three aspects:the usage and master degree of Yi writing system, the usage and knowledge level of the standalization of Yi writing system, and the attitudes of using Yi, so as to make sure to reflect the real using situation of Yi in educational field.Chapter four describes different classes’attitudes towards Yi writing system according to the interview to different groups in Liangshan region. And then summarizes the important role of the standalization of Yi writing system in educational field.Chapter five poses questions existing in Yi educational field from five aspects:ideological understanding and practical action, administrative mechanism, financing input, teacher resources and teaching material construction, and finally puts forward the feasible solving measures in view of the above.Chapter six comes to the conclusion which briefly summarizes the main themes of this article and brings forth the following research direction.This paper attempts to make a systematical investigation on Yi’s application in Liang Shan’s education system. On the basis of facts and figures, the paper manages to distinguish the usage of the standalization of Yi writing system in education and teaching by an unsentimental portrayal. Moreover, by analyzing different attitudes hold by different groups, this paper completes the effects in many directions it emits. To discover the existing problems and to formulate practical and feasible settlement measures, this paper cast about for some means to provide to the national or local education department’s policy making on the spoken language and written script of ethnic minorities.
