Research On The Informal Learning Model Of College Students Based On SNS

With the rapid development of network technology, informal learning based on networkis to become the main way for college students to study a variety of subject knowledge.Students favor of the SNS community and SNS own characteristics provide a goodopportunity for informal learning of college students, how to make use of SNS to buildcollege students’ informal learning communitiy, overcome some of the problems of theexisting network communities, and make students get better informal learning effect are theproblems of this research topic strive to solve.This research first analyzes the research status at home and abroad of the SNS andinformal learning, summarizes research at home and abroad for informal learning andinformal learning model, elaborates characteristics and theoretical basis of informal learning.By questionnaire and interview, I investigated the manner and extent of college students usingthe existing SNS community for informal learning, the functional requirements of the SNScommunity for them, as well as the related issues about using SNS community to learn.According to the analysis of survey results and SNS support role of informal learning oncollege students, I proposed the informal learning model of college students based on SNS,tried to overcome some problems of informal learning of current college students takeadvantage of the SNS community. The research proposed building informal learning modelbased SNS including five elements of learners, learning resources, learning services, socialinteraction and emotion, and discussed the principle of building the model should be followed.Finally, according to the theoretical model and the principles proposed in this research, Iconstructed a practical application, made use of open source SNS program of Elgg and relatedtools provide by network to develop informal learning communities. And then I analyzedlearning outcomes in the application, according to the existing shortcomings and deficiencies,further optimize of informal learning model.This research to build a new informal learning community of college students based onthe SNS is trying to overcome issues such as the lack of social realism in informal learningcommunities of network, interactivity is not strong, resource transfer mode is single, canprovide a new way of informal learning for college students. Hoping to use SNS’ concept andfunction to make up for the defects in the network of informal learning, optimize collegestudents’ informal learning effects, improve college students self-learning ability, the positiveinnovation ability as well as the ability to collaborate with others.
