A Study On Present Situation And Development Countermeasures Of High Vocational Education In Taicang City

High vocational education aims to transport professional and practical talents to our society, satisfying demand from the development of society and economy. It is the foundation and precondition of the development of advanced manufacturing industry. Developed countries all have developed high vocational education. There is a positive correlation between high vocational education and regional economy.In this paper, we take Taicang City for example, describing the background, the present situation and the development concept of Chien-shiung Institute of Technology. Firstly, based on the definition, connotation and characters of the high vocational education, C-D production function and Solow Model, we analyzed the positive correlation between high vocational education and regional economy. Secondly we found out the problems in Taicang City’s high vocational education and lastly we discussed the direction and pathway for it. Our research may be the theoretical basis for government policies.Nowadays, in order to strengthen Taicang’s competitiveness, we must supply a great number of talents. It is a serious test.Firstly we define what is high vocational education, making its characters clear; then based on, we point out that high vocational education can promote development of economy; secondly we we analyze why Taicang develops high vocational education, describing its present situation; lastly we find out problems in Taicang’s high vocational education and put forward some suggestion.Our conclusions are as follows:1、The development of advanced manufacturing industry in Taicang City provides development platform for high vocational education. The structure of industries has been changing and there is a great demand for technical talents. At the same time, human resource structure is not reasonable and it provides a good foundation for high vocational education.2、The development of high vocational education in Taicang City promotes regional economy effcetly. The target of high vocational education is providing professional and practical talents for our society. On one hand, it can make a supply for enterprises; on the other hand, it can promote the transfer of rural labor. Both of these is good for economic transition, coordinated development and can raise the overall level of society.3、Fixed-responsibility dual system of Chien-shiung Institute of Technology, based on Germany "dual system", realized mode innovation. In the process of teaching, Chien-shiung Institute cooperates with enterprises closely and trains students according to business requirements. On one hand, this mode innovation solves the puzzle of talents introduction for enterprises and eases the financial pressure for the college; on the other hand, students growing up in enterprises can improve their ability, promoting economic development further.4、There is coupling mechanism between regional economy and vocational education. Through the empirical research, we know that there is coupling mechanism between regional economy and vocational education, they can promote each other. But because of traditional ideas, high vocational education college still lacks of students. Besides that, the teacher troop is unstable is also a big problem. Fixed-responsibility dual system in Chien-shiung Institute of Technology provides a new train of thought for our country. In future, we should increase propagandist strength to guarantee the development for high vocational education. At the same time, we should set disciplines according to enterprises, promoting coupling mechanism between regional economy and vocational education.
