The "dual system’*is an effective model of vocational education which first came into being in Germany. Shanghai Electronic Industry School is the first full-time secondary vocational school to explore and practice the model of the German "dual system" of vocational education and the school experienced the process from "Take doctrine" to "selecting the best" and finally to "localization".For30years, the school has been focusing on the research of "dual system" vocational education and has formed the teaching philosophy of "dual system" with Chinese characteristics. In recent years, the school explores and perfects the action-oriented teaching in the process of practicing the "dual system" vocational education to further expand and enhance the theory and practice pattern of "dual system" and to enrich the first-hand teaching experience.Speaking from the form, the dual of the "dual system" involves the relationship between schools and businesses. Speaking from the essence of the idea of "dual system", it relates to educational theory and vocational practice. The core of the concept of "dual system" education is that "theory values practice and practice values experience". Concretely, the "dual system" vocational education emphasizes four unifications: the unification between school education and school needs; the unification between school planning and school management; the unification between theoretical courses and practical courses; the unification between theory teaching and practice teaching. The core idea provides new ideas for the improvement of Chinese vocational teaching practice.Guided by the educational theory of "dual system*’ vocational education, we need to use the action-oriented leaning method for reference and leam it again. The goal of "dual system" is not to make students master a few isolated key points, but aims to the development of students. The development of students needs not only simple skills, but also the key of how to grasp the knowledge in the social environment and use the skills to complete tasks. Therefore, on the basis of making sure the task, curriculum and teaching content, we need to set the scene, determine he task, explore the process, implement experience and make reflection summary through action-oriented teaching method. We choose student-centered teaching form and apply the goal-oriented learning method and emphasize on quality control and evaluation of the learning process. In this teaching model, the teacher’s role changes to a guide for teaching activities, tutor and moderator. A positive interrelationship, which ensures the realization of expected teaching objective, is formed between students and teachers, learning (work) environment and students along with teachers.Take vocational mathematics teaching for example, its positioning should adapt to the needs of market and society, the needs of actual development of students and the needs to deepen the reform of vocational education. Especially, we need to explore ways to better serve professional teaching and students’ career development. Furthermore, we need to focus on the application of project teaching model, case teaching model, role-playing teaching model and discussion teaching model.
