With the progress of science and technology, national economy is developing insistently and rapidly. Crane occupies a pivotal position in the field of modern construction, while moment limiter is an important equipment to ensure the safety of crane operation. With the constant increase in demand for crane which is developing in the direction of larger and more complicated, users pay more attention to the reliability of moment limiter. At present moment limiter for domestic intermediate and large tonnage crane mainly comes from import, because our homemade device has a poor reliability with simple function and large system error. Therefore, in order to make up for the inadequacy of domestic moment limiter system and improve the competitiveness of domestic products in the international market, it has an important realistic significance and practical value to design a moment limiter with independent intellectual property rights, high reliability and comprehensive function. In the design high-performance microprocessor ARM11is used as the master control unit of the system, which calculate and analyse the acquisited data and complete corresponding operation. To improve the flexibility of system, the hardware design of data acquisition unit is configurable. Other features like satellite positioning, remote monitoring and human-computer interaction are also added to the product, in order to perfect system’s capability while ensure its operational reliability. In this subject the author complete schematic design and PCB design of the moment limiter system, and finish hardware debugging with testing program. The experimental results verify the rationality and reliability of the system which will have a good application prospect.
