Animal Welfare Under The Perspective Of Legal Issues Research Meat Products Exports

With the development of harmonious economy of China, great attention is increasingly paid on the export trade of China’s meat products and the farm animal welfare protection. Moreover, there are no significant welfare laws in China to protect animal welfare, hence the export trade of China falls behind the international advanced level with many issues about the protection of animal welfare. The export trade, especially the meat trade, is not superior in international trade competition because it fails to meet the international standards and implement the animal welfare protection in offering the conditions for animal breeding, in animal transporting and in the methods of killing animal.Following are the main issues of this paper. First, it presents a high-level overview of the legislation and development about farm animal welfare and unifies the conception, standards, connotation and classification of animal welfare by introducing the research both at home and abroad in this field. Second, it elaborates some problems of farm animal welfare in our country which have the impacts on the export trade of meat product through careful analysis about the defects of domestic farm animal welfare in the aspects of business model, animal’s dietary, animal feeding operations, the conveyor environment, the access to animal products and so on. And basing on the thorough study and meticulous comparison on the problems mentioned above, the paper comes to the conclusion about the real issues in the animal welfare legislation of our country. At last, it proposes some methods in improving the legislation of farm animal welfare which are corresponding to the problems mentioned above. The author expresses the position on advocating the animal welfare legislation and promoting its development to meet the trend of development of global economic development through carrying out the animal welfare to propel the legislation of farm animal welfare.
