It expressed prefectly the feeling of friends’departmemt.So it made Farewell painting’s came out.Farewell painting as a kind of farewell theme appeared repeatly in artist’s wroks, for instance, a farewell scene painted on the handle of a wooden grate from Qin tomb at Jiangling Phoenix Mountain Hubei province;GuKaizhi,who lived in the Eastern Jin Dynasty have a work named’luoshen picture’.in which the painter describes both the godness and caozhi were reluctant to leave at the lastAnd in GuHongzhong’s work "HanXizai Banquet Figure", He depicts the host and guest mutual farewell scene in the end. In these painting people play a important role,but the form of landscape’s farewell painting appeared in Song Dynasty.and reaching its peak in Ming Dynasty. With the urban economy developing,people were pursuit of higher spiritual.Since the farewell painting could not only vividly describeb mountain and flowing water,but also expressed friendship between friends,which made literati,marchants and noblemen all like it.And because farewell painting have a special meaning that made it became the most elegant gift which given friends or noblemen when at a friend’s departure on a long journey.This article is based on Ming Dynasty’s farewell painting,mainly discuss the cause of farewell painting flourish,and its vaule,meaning.To interpret the works’cultural roots and discuss farewell painting’s development,evolution,culture background and practical factors that is the article’s main path.This article is divided into three parts:The first part discuss the context of the farewell painting,and it’s developing in Ming period.
