Chinese teaching is a vital part of Chinese language teaching. In recent years,research on the teaching of Chinese characters has drawn widespread attention. Butregrettably,"Chinese is difficult to learn" is still plagued students learning Chinese.Especially for non-native phonetic Chinese cultural circle students, it is even moredifficult to learn Chinese characters. If we cannot solve the problem "Chinese is difficultto learn" that will blow their enthusiasm and interest in learning, is not conducive tonon-Chinese cultural circle students to study deeply and systematic.In this paper,20non-Chinese cultural circle students have been taken out thequestionnaire survey. From this questionnaire survey, we know their learning conditionsof Chinese character. Based on the result of this questionnaire survey, we do someresearch on three aspects: students’ learning strategies, teaching methods and teachingmaterials design. To provide some thoughts and ideas for non-Chinese cultural circlestudents Chinese character teaching.This paper is divided into four parts: First, introduces the study of teaching Chinesecharacter to foreigner, and elaborate purpose and significance of this study; Second, thequestionnaire survey about non-Chinese cultural circle students’ Chinese learningsituation, analysis the learning motivation, the learning strategy and the difficulties oflearning Chinese character; Third, the view of the above findings, from the students’cognitive habits, the way teachers teach, teaching materials design three aspects depthanalysis the reasons why Chinese character is difficult to learn; Fourth, combined surveyresults and analysis of the reasons, put forward four points countermeasures which isshunting recognize and write to reducing the burden of memory, around the charactersconstitute system for teaching, enhance interest of Chinese character teaching, promote the quality of foreign Chinese character materials.
