The Study Of The Value Of Social Dependence

Joseph Raz, whose study and unique views on the philoshophe of value was highly concerned in the jurisprudential circles and the philosophy circles. He claimed that our evaluative experiences are profoundly shaped by social practices, while the different or the opposite value is based on different social practices. Raz contended that’once a value comes into being, it bears on everything, without restriction’. The main purpose of Raz’s study is to find out a foundation of the objectivities of value, which is opposed to value relativism. From this, Raz attempted to find a solution between principle of universality and the social dependence,as well as to compile the two.Based on the study of value, Raz tried to find out the interrelationship between "the law and the value", where he got it in the practical philosophy. He found a Philosophy of Value foundation for Law, according which he can put Law and Value in Nome for consideration Meanwhile, in order to explain the objectivity and the universal validity of law, Raz tried to prove the rationality of the law through the compile between the principle of universality and the social dependence. The study of Raz’s theory will enhance the Chinese and Western Value philosophy research,as well as drive the study of intrinsic relationship between Value and Law.In my paper, I attempt to understand the Raz’s idea about value, and to distinguish some concept as Norm, Practice, Value and Law. Then,I will introduce two different concepts of practice to compare with the different understanding about value between Chinese and Western.
