| The arrival of the era of network 2,making people’s lives cannot be separated from social media on every aspects.On the other hand,social media also began to have a certain impact on people’s psychology and behavior.As a member of society,teenagers are inevitably involved in the social media.In order to build new relationships,social media has become a platform for them to develop themselves.Thus,scholars not only focus on the positive impact of social media on young people but also worried that their excessive dependence on social media will have a negative impact on their interpersonal and life.In this study,junior high school and senior high school students were taken as subjects to explore the influence of their social media dependence on interpersonal relationship.The research adopts the method of questionnare and then selected a total of 6 junior and senior high school classes to investigate.Questionnaire used in the survey were social media dependence questionnaire,interpersonal relationship questionnaire and loneliness questionnaire:In order to explore the relationship between interpersonal relationship and social media dependence and examine what the role of loneliness plays in that relationship wen conducted a survey.The main conclusions are as follows:(1)Generally speaking,young people all have affected by social media,48.1%of which use social media have been for more than 5 years.And 71.6%of them spent about 1 hours on social media like QQ,WeChat,Baidu,sina Weibo and Baidu Tieba.At the same time,the aim of using social media is to relax themselves after study and keeping in touch with their parents.(2)As study shows the level of social media independence is different from each other.Among them 40%of whom moderately dependent on social media and 36%participants heavily dependent on social media.The average scores of adolescents’interpersonal relationship questionnaire were high,which showed that the quality of interpersonal relationship was good.However the average scores of Loneliness Questionnaire were high,which means that they felt a lot of loneliness in daily life.In addition,high school students rely much more on social media than junior high school students.What’s more,interpersonal quality is slightly worse than junior high school students,loneliness is higher than junior high school students.(3)From the aspects of gender,teenagers’ performance on social media dependence and interpersonal relationships are different significantly.To be specific boys have higher scores at social media dependence than girls but the scores of interpersonal relationship questionnaire is lower than girls.In terms of grade and being or not the one-child,teenagers in social media,interpersonal relationship and loneliness scored significantly different.Among them,grade one students in high school got the highest score at social media independence.Students in grade two in middle school felt loneliest and the interpersonal relationship was worst.The only one children got higher score at social media dependence and the quality of interpersonal relations is also worse than who are not the only one children.Besides,not the only one children felt less lonely.(4)Social media dependence was negatively related to interpersonal relationships and the correlation coefficient was-0.41.At the same time,it was positively related to loneliness with a correlation coefficient of 0.38.Loneliness was negatively related to interpersonal relationships and the correlation coefficient was-0.49.The more teenagers rely on the social media the worse the quality of real interpersonal relationships was.But there was no obvious reliance on social media and was detrimental to youth relationships.(5)Loneliness has a mediating effect on social media dependence and interpersonal relationships.If young people have no obvious dependence on social media then the media needs will not be met leading to enhance the sense of loneliness and the interpersonal relationship quality will be poor;but when young people rely heavily on social media,the loneliness may be enhanced thus having a negative impact on the interpersonal relationship. |
