The Religion Conception Of Zhang Taiyan In Qiushu

The thesis principally put a discussion on Zhangtaiyan’s religion conception in Qiushu. Firstly the thesis analyzes his actual needs of bringing in religion conception, which he retorted that western ecclesiastics didn’t thought that Chinese had religion. For this opinion, Zhangtaiyan gave two reasons to explain:negligence of inspection and self-righteous thought without others’. Secondly the thesis discusses his view of the origin of Chinese religion, which he separated it to two phases of primitive and archaic religion and organized religion, and the relationship between organized religion and the reins of government. Thirdly it coordinated and analyzed his opinion of religion in Qiushu, including his point of the essence of religion and its features and problems. Finally, it expounded his outlook on religious problems in the real world and the influence of the viewpoint of religion in Qiushu on his philosophy religion.
