The prolific life of Hu shi,in literature,history,philosophy,religion and so on have very high attainments,and the focus of this article is about the religious thoughts of hu shi.Mainly related to the research methods from hu shi’s work time sequence as the "classics",in the mind to develop as the weft thread,into the text,text extended and text analysis is discussed.First of all,analysis the early strong Confucianism of neo-confucianism influence of family background on hu shi thought,he has experienced the journey from “God” to “Have no God”.Then,the awareness of Christianity by analysis of hu shi early study in the United States,by the desire to proselytize to the fact that does not become christians and elderly tolerance of the Christian religion position lately;Secondly,analysis the attitude of hu shi towards Buddhism,hu shi absorbed the buddhist theory of positive’s entry into wto,the thoughts in their place,and showed his positive outlook on life of China’s accession to wto;In the research of Chinese vernacular literature and ancient philosophy,hu shi has a strong interest on zen Buddhism,he mainly uses the method of “fact” of China Buddhism zen history makes a deep and detailed study,and pointed out that zen lineage of the historical truth,and this kind of scientific research,the result is caused a big stir in the buddhish,mixed reviews.Finally,analysis of hu shi and Confucianism(or Confucian),hu shi particularly prized Confucius and his “to” is known by its ideology,on Confucianism(or Confucian)from the “soul” to the “spirit” to the theory of “three immortality of basis,and combining his personal experiences and research with Christianity,Buddhism,formed their own creative religious views —theory of social immortality ”.In general,we think that hu shi’s religious views are diverse,humane,and worldly.
