Objective:1.To understand the current situation of nurses’ psychological capital and analyze its influencing factors in the third-grade class A general hospitals in the city, and explore the correlation of nurses’ Psychological capital and Individual career management. It provides practical foundation for nurses’psychological capital intervention, and the reference for the nurses’ career management and education.2. Based on Luthans’ PsyCap Intervention (PCI), combined with the characteristics of nursing work and nurses’demand, it is necessary to explore a scientific, applicable and feasible psychological capital curriculum which improves the level of nurses’ psychological capital and provides the reference for nursing managers.3. To explore the effect of the nurses’ psychological capital intervention and the influence of individual career management, it is a kind of effective method which improves the level of the nurse’ psychological capitaland individual career management situation status.Methods:In survey research,553nurses of3third-grade class A general hospitals in the city were surveyed.590questionnaires were given totally, and561questionnaires were taken back. The recovery rate is95%.Eight invalid questionnaires were excluded, and there are553valid questionnaires.The effective rate is98%.The questionnaires include general information questionnaire,"the Chinese Revision of Nurses’ Psychological Capital Scale" and "Individual Career Management Scale". Using SPSS13.0statistical software to analysis the data, these methods included descriptive statistics, t-test, analysis of variance, Kruskal-Wallis test, etc.In the intervention study,65nurses from one of the third-grade class A general hospitals in the city were selected as research objects by recruiting. Followed by randomization group, there are34nurses in experimental group, and31in control group. Four nurses had not completed the curriculum and have been eliminated in the experimental group.The experimental group took part in Psychological Capital guidance, and the tests were used before and after the counseling by "the Chinese Revision of Nurses" Psychological Capital Scale"and"Individual Career Management Scale".After the intervention the participants evaluated the nurses’ curriculum of the psychological capital with" the psychological capital evaluation scale of nurses".Using SPSS13.0statistical software to analysis the data, these methods included analysis of variance, chi-square analysis, etc.Results:1The results of the reliability and validity test of the Individual Career Management Scale.(1) Reliability:The overall scale Cronbach Alpha coefficient is0.863.m,The five dimensions’(exploration, career goal setting, continuous learning, self-nomination and interpersonal relationship orientation) the Cronbach Alpha coefficients are0.893,0.816,0.733,0.721,0.903.The odd-even reliability is0.941, and the test-retest reliability coefficient is0.810.(2) Content validity:The content validity of the surface is0.911by five specialists’ consultation method.2Survey results:(1)The scores of "the Chinese Revision of Nurses’ Psychological Capital Scale " and "Individual Career Management Scale":The score of nurses’ psychological capital was (88.19±13.20). Four dimensions of the psychological capital from high to low by the scoring percentage were Efficacy,Resilience,Optimism,Hope.The score of the individual career management was (46.68±7.54). Five dimensions of the individual career management from high to low by the scoring percentage were continuous learning, career goal setting, interpersonal relationship orientation, self-nomination and exploration.(2)The influential factors of the psychological capital for nurses:in different ages, departments, professional titles, positions, nursing career curriculum, the scores of the psychological capital were statistically significant (p<0.05). Departments, positions and nursing career curriculum were important influentical factors that effected the situation of the nurses’ psychological capital.(3)The relationship between nurses’Psychological capital and individual career management:there was not a correlation between career exploration and psychological capital (p>0.05).There was a positive correlation between the overall psychological capital and individual career management (p<0.01).Hope and optimism could predict the effect of career goal and interpersonal relationship orientation. Optimism and efficacy could predict the effect of self-nomination. Hope, optimism and efficacy could predict the effect of continuous learning and individual career management.3Experimental results:In addition to self-nomination, there were significantly differences in nurses’ psychological capital and individual career management between the experimental group and the control group after intervention (p<0.05); before and after the intervention, the differences of the scores of nurses’ psychological capital and individual career management in the experimental group were statistically significant (p<0.05), while those of the control group had no significant difference (p>0.05).Conclusion:1In three Class Ⅲ A-level general hospitals, the psychological capital of nurses is above the medium level, and individual career management of nurses is at a medium level. It is valuable to promote the psychological capital.While they carry out organizational career management, nursing managers pay attention to nurses’ individual career management.2The results of this relationship between nurses’ psychological capital and individual career management show that the improvement of the psychological capital could enhance the nurse’ ability of individual career management, explore the nurses’ potential, and carry out scientific and reasonable career management.3The nurses’ psychological capital training would effectively enhance the nurses’ ability of the individual career management, and improve the nurses’ status of the individual career management. Through the psychological capital training, the nurses would know themselves better, explore their potential and obtain competitive advantages, mainly in the following areas:the sorces of career goal setting, exploration, continuous learning and interpersonal relationship orientation have improved.4In the research, the curriculum of the psychological capital has certain clinical practical value.
