Objective:To investigate whether the traditional Chinese medicine Cremastraappendiculata can inhibit the apoptosis of thyroid cancer cell in vitro.Meanwhile study the effects of traditional Chinese medicine Cremastraappendiculata on thyroid cancer cell about the expression level of the gene NIS.Methods:(1) The experiment of proliferative inhibition of SW579The human thyroid cancer cell line SW579was incubated particularly withdifferent concentration of Cremastra appendiculata. After incubating48h, therate of cell proliferation inhibition and IC50can be measured by MTT assay. The change of the cell morphology can be observed by inverted phase contrastmicroscope after different drugs treating.(2) Detected the expression of the gene NISCollect the cell of SW579of each experiment group: the low concentration(0.5IC50) group, the moderate concentration (IC50) group, the highconcentration (2IC50) group of Cremastra appendiculata and negative group.The expressions the gene NIS in different drug therapeutic teams were detectedby RT-PCR.Results:(1)The Cremastra appendiculata in the concentration of1~100mg/mlcould inhibit the growth of SW579in different degree, the IC50was10.38mg/ml.(2) When the Cremastra appendiculata in the concentration of1~30mg/ml,the effect of inhibition of SW579growth was increased with the concentrationincreased; when the Cremastra appendiculata in the concentration of40~100mg/ml, the effect of inhibition of SW579growth was weakened with theconcentration increased.(3)The expression of the gene NIS of the the low concentration group, themoderate concentration group and the high concentration group was higher thanthe negative group (P=0.000), the expression of the gene NIS was increased withthe concentration increased.(P<0.001). Conclusions:(1) Traditional Chinese medicine Cremastra appendiculata induce theapoptosis of thyroid cancer cell.(2) Hormesis was showed in the influence of Cremastra appendiculata forSW579cells’ proliferation.(3) The gene NIS was low expression in the SW579cells.(4) The expression of gene NIS in the SW579cells was higher afterincubated by Cremastra appendiculata.
