Effects Of New Xuefu Zhuyu Soft Capsule MMP-9and TIMP-1in Atherosclerosis Patients With Blood Stasis Syndrome

Objective:To explore the effects of New Xuefu Zhuyu Soft Capsule on MMP-9and TIMP-1in atherosclerosis patients with blood stasis syndrome and to explore the possible mechanism.Methods:60cases of AS were randomly divided into a treatment group and a control group,30cases in treatment group and30cases in control group. The control group was treated with Atorvastatin Calcium tablets.The treatment group was treated with New Xuefu Zhuyu soft capsule and Atorvastatin Calcium tablets (20mg po qd). The two groups were all medicated for12weeks. It was observed the blood fat:the total cholesterol(TC) and low density,lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C), the Serum MMP-9, TIMP-1, MMP-9/TIMP-1and blood stasis syndromes changed before and after treatment in all patients.Results:Compared with before treatment the levels of TC and LDL-C, MMP-9, MMP-9/TIMP-1and the stasis credits were lower than before treatment in either group (P<0.05or P<0.01). The level of TIMP-1was higher than before treatment (P<0.05or P<0.01). After treatment, TC and LDL-C, the serum MMP-9, MMP-9/TIMP-1and the stasis credits in treatment group were significantly lower than that in control group after treatment (P<0.05). The level of TIMP-1in treatment group was higher than that in control group (P<0.05).Conclusion:New Xuefu Zhuyu Soft Capsule lower TC and LDL-C, relieves the signs of blood stasis, reduces serum MMP-9level, MMP-9/TIMP-1level and elevates serum TIMP-1level. It suggests that this medicine has the effect of anti-atherosclerosis and lowering the incidence of cardiovascular accidence. And it probably inhibits atherosclerosis through reducing inflammatory reaction.
