Objective:To investigate the changes of serum omentin levels in type2diabetes mellitus and factors associatedMethods:According to body mass index(BMI), type2diabetes were divided into2groups.Group T2DM-NonOB included25examples of normal BMI. Group T2DM-OB included27examples of increased BMI.36cases with health checks were as control group (NG). Serum omentin was detected by enzyme-linked immunoassay, in addition to recording the age of each group, height, weight, blood pressure, while monitoring blood glucose, blood lipids, fasting insulin, osteocalcin and other indicators. Calculate insulin resistance index (HOMA-IR).Results:(1) WC, BMI, SBP, FBG, HbAlc, FINS, HOMA-IR, TC, TG, LDL-C in T2DM group were higher than in the normal control group; while HDL-C, omentin and osteocalcin were lower (P<0.05).(2) Compared with the normal control group, WC, BMI, SBP, FBG, HbAlC, FINS, HOMA-IR, TC, TG, LDL-C in T2DM-OB group were higher, while HDL-C, omentin,osteocalcin were lower (P<0.05).Meanwhile, compared with the T2DM-NonOB group, WC, BMI, SBP, HOMA-IR, FBG, FINS, LDL-C were higher and omentin, osteocalcin were lower (P<0.05). Compared with the normal control group, WC, SBP, HbAlc, HOMA-IR, FBG, FINS in the T2DM-NonOB group were higher and omentin, osteocalcin, HDL were lower (P<0.05).(3) Simple correction analysis indicated that there was a positive correlation between serum omentin and osteocalcin and a negative correlation with WC, BMI, SBP, LDL-C, FINS, HOMA-IR.(4) Stepwise multiple regression analysis showed HOMA-IR into the regression equation was omentin independently associated factors.Conclusions:(1) Significantly low serum omentin may be involved in the pathogenesis of type2diabetes.(2) Multiple regression analysis showed that HOMA-IR was independently associated with serum omentin, suggesting that omentin may be involved in insulin resistance development.(3) Serum omentin with WC, BMI was negatively correlated, suggesting that omentin may be associated with obesity.(4) Serum omentin and osteocalcin was positively correlated, suggesting that omentin may be closely associated with bone metabolism.
