Analysis the prevalence of MS and its change trend presented along with the age growth and gender differences, and MS related risk factors on the impact of the disease. Methods: Collect804medical datas of serving and retired civil servants who works or worked in public security department from the first hospital of Jilin university in2010, including questionnaire, general physical examination and blood biochemistry test results. Do statistical analysis about the prevalence of MS as well as its changing trend with age and gender differences using SPSS17.0software. Analysis the relationship between the diseases and MS related risk factors.Results:1.The prevalence of MS about the civil servants group of public security department in Jilin province as follows: Total qualified samples are804cases,190patients eligible for MS, the prevalence was23.632%; the prevalence rate of male MS was28.423%(164/577); the prevalence rate of female MS was11.454%(26/227). Male incidence of MS was significantly higher than female P=0.000, OR=3.070,95%CI (1.964,1.964);2.The result of analysis about the prevalence of MS and its risk factors along with different age in individuals: Divided three groups according to the age, there are the youth (<40years of age), middle‐aged(40to60years old) and elderly group(>60yearse of age). The study found that there are differences prevalence of MS among different ages. The prevalence of each age group in MS were16.8%,22.63%,37.58%.It’s obvious that the prevalence of MS is on the rise with age growth. The highest prevalence of MS ages was the olderly guope. The comparison between the sexes shows significantly statistical differences. In the youth and the middle‐aged groups, the prevalence of MS is significantly higher in male than female; And in the elderly group, the gender difference is not obvious;3.The onset of MS is positively correlated with the diseases of hypertension, cerebrovascular disease and diabetes useing Logistic regression analysis method. Hypertension prevalence rate was46.84%in MS group more than7.82%in MS group, P=0.000, OR=5.992,95%CI(4.070,8.882). In the comparative study of MS and cerebrovascular disease, the prevalence of cerebral vascular disease was5.79%in MS group but1.63%in non‐MS group, P=0.007, OR=3.555,95%CI(1.487,8.499). Prevalence of T2DM in MS group was13.16%, and it in non‐MS group was2.44%, P=0.000, OR=5.386,95%CI(2.782,10.426);4.Useing Logistic multifactor regression analysis method, the risk factors for MS as follows:there are age (P=0.000, OR=2.33,95%CI:1.709,3.282) and BMI (P=0.000, OR=3.03,95%CI:2.14,5.52), the WC (P=0.000, OR=2.58,95%CI:1.97,15.79), the FPG (P=0.000, OR=3.44,95%CI:2.33,11.56), TG (P=0.021, OR=1.27,95%CI:1.04,2.37), smoking (P=0.037, OR=1.08,95%CI:1.01,1.75); But HDL (P=0.03, OR=0.03,95%CI:0.75,1.39), moderate exercise (P=0.005, OR=0.74,95%CI:0.56,1.17), drinking a moderate amount (P=0.007, OR=0.71,95%CI:0.45,1.97), the high quality sleep (P=0.029, OR=1.81,95%CI:1.56,2.21) are protective factors of MS.Conclusion:1.MS prevalence is higher in civil servants of public security in Changchun. The prevalence rate of MS is higher in male than in female. And the prevalence of MS is rising along with the age;2.There are differences according to different gender and different age groups. In youth and middle‐aged groups, the prevalence of MS is lower than the male, but gender differeces is not obviouse in the elderly group;3.MS can increase the disease such as hypertension, cerebrovascular disease and T2DM, and this phenomenon is more apparent in women;4. Age, obesity, elevated‐BMI, increased‐WC, hyperglycemia, hyperlipidemia, smoking are risk factors for MS; but HDL, moderate exercise, moderate drinking, sleeping quality, etc are protective factors of MS.
