Objective:It evaluates the clinical efficacy of TQMM IV that treats optic nerve atrophy due to angle-closure glaucoma. Explore the mechanism of the drug action by hemodynamics.Methods:Thirty-three patients with angle-closure glaucoma optic nerve atrophy were chosen.There were two groupsrtreat and control,thirty eyes each group.The treatment group treated by TQMM IV,the control group treated by Nimodipine Tablets.The whole experiment lasted thirty days.The visual acuity, visual field,hemodynamics and clinical symptoms were observed before and after treatment.Results:(1)The total effective rate of treatment group was66.67%,and the control group’s was36.67%after the end of observation.There was significant difference between two groups(P<0.05).(2)The visual acuity of the treatment group was better than that of pre-treatment and the control(P<0.05).The control group had no significant difference in visual acuity(P>0.05).(3)There was significant difference as compared before and after treatment(P<0.05).As compared with control group, visual field of treatment were improved(P<0.05). There was no significant difference in control group(P>0.05).(4)The blood flow dynamics of treatment group ameliorated(P<0.05),and the degree of improvement was better than the control group(P<0.05). Changes in control group were no significant difference(P>0.05).(5)The treatment group clinical manifestations score decreased obviously(P<0.05).There was statistical significance compared with the control group(P<0.05).There no significant changes in control group(P>0.05). Conclusion:TQMM IV can effectively improve hemodynamics and protect visual function,treatment of optic nerve atrophy due to angle-closure glaucoma.It can preserve optic nerve through antagonism of Ca2+, scavenging free radicals,reduction of NO toxicity,decreasing RGCs apoptosis.
