ObjectiveGuided by Kirkpatrick model, the effect evaluation index system ofcontinuing nursing education which is suitable to China actual situation wasconstructed in this study. It is used to provide theory basis and suggestions forreference for evaluating effectiveness of continuing nursing education andClinical nurse training.Objects and MethodsIndexes were determined by adopting Delphi method to counsel30expertsfrom Shanxi,Jilin,Guangdong and Shandong for three rounds.Accepting criteria:Engaged in nursing education, clinical nursing, nursing management, healthmanagement or nursing research work;more than10years relevant workingexperience;Bachelor degree or above; associate professor title or above, willingand have enough time to ensure complete three rounds expert consultation.Thefirst two rounds were to determine the indexes of continuing nursingeducation. The third round was to determine the weight of every index. Therepresentativeness and credibility of the Delphi method were tested by thepositive coefficient, authoritative coefficient, coordination coefficient and theconcentration of expert advice. The reliability testing of the index system wastested by Cronbach’s α and Test-Retest reliability. The content validity andconstruct validity of the index system was tested by the logical analysis andfactor analysis.ResultsBy adopting Delphi method, in the first round, one secondary index,"workquality",were changed to"clinical care";three third indexes were removed, including "level on multimedia courseware production, understanding of hospitalstrategy and culture, and so on;eleven third indexes were added, including" helpful to improve the current nursing work"、"writing ability on nursingdocuments",and so on; seven third indexes were revised. In the secondround, one secondary index"Personal benefit",one third indexes,"helpful toworking and personal development",were removed. The effect evaluation indexsystem of continuing nursing education consists of4domains includingreaction, leaning, behavior and results. The evaluation index system includes4level-1dimensions,11level-2dimensions and49level-3items. The three-round Delphi method had a positivecoefficient l00%,96.67%,100%;Mean of authoritative coefficient>0.7. Aftertwo rounds of consulting, the experts’Kendall harmonious coefficient onOne,two,three-level indexes was0.440,0.361and0.384,chi-square test P<0.05for all. Cronbach’s α of total system was up to0.891,Cronbach’s α of eachdomain ranged from0.768to0.846;expert Structure validity was tested byfactor analysis,as a result, all indexes were single high loading, greater than0.4,and accumulated significantly.ConclusionThrough scientific and strict qualitative and quantitative researchmethods, effect evaluation index system for continuing nursing education basedon Kirkpatrick model is established. In this study, the positive coefficient, authoritative coefficient and coordination coefficient are high, and the reliabilityand validity of the study result are good. The evaluation index system providesthe basis for evaluating effectiveness of continuing nursing educationscientifically and completely.SignificanceThe effect evaluation index system for continuing nursing education basedon Kirkpatrick model is established in this study. It provides theory basis andevaluation tool for evaluating effectiveness of continuing nursing educationcompletely for health management, providing objective and practical standardsto improve on-the-job training for nursing staff.
