Objectives: This study aimed to investigate the clinical efficacy on Yi Qi Yang YinDecoction in treating Chronic Atrophic Gastritis, and try to discuss deeply the etiology andpathogenesis of chronic atrophic gastritis and clarify the efficacy and mechanism of Yi QiYangYinDecoction by using the theory of TCM.Methods: In establishing the strict diagnostic criteria, inclusion criteria, exclusioncriteria and efficacy of assessment criteria, based on a random, balanced against theprinciple of60patients qualified as subjects,30cases were divided into the experimentalgroup given Yi Qi Yang Yin Decoction;30cases were divided into the control group treatedwith weifuchun tablets. Above two groups of patients’ symptoms, signs, gastroscopicexaminations and histopathological examinations were observed before and after treatingbetween the two groups of patients. A course of treatment sustains three months with aobservation of one course and a total of3months.Results:Yi Qi Yang Yin Decoction can obviously improve the clinical symptoms. Itcan not only replenish qi to invigorate the spleen, but also can nourish yin and stomach. Inaddition, it can clear away heat and toxic materials from the stomach. Besides, it caninvigorate the circulation of blood. In a word, after some kinds of examinations, the totaleffective rate of the experimental group was90.0%,while the total effective rate of thecontrol group was76.7%.The two groups were significantly different (P <0.01).Conclusion: Yi Qi Yang Yin Decoction has a significant and exact effect on chronicatrophic gastritis, and it can effectively alleviate the clinical symptoms with a high clinicalvalue.
