OBJECTIVET:The aim of the study was to assess the effect of Descending Stomach Qi(JianWeiXiaoZhang Table, JWXZT) on chronic non-atrophic gastritis of spleen deficiency and qi stagnation type (CNAG) by observing clinical symptoms.METHOD:126 cases of chronic non-atrophic gastritis of spleen deficiency and qi stagnation type (CNAG) were divided into two groups randomly. The treatment group (86 cases) was treated with JWXZT and the control group (40 cases) treated with Teprenone. The treatment course was 4 weeks, after 4 weeks symptoms, endoscopy, and pathology were compared between the treatment group and the control group.RESULTS:The clinical symptoms of both group have significant difference after four-weeks treatment compared with the clinical symptoms before the treatment (P<0.01). In this study, after four-weeks treatment, the total effective rate of improving the clinical symptoms of the treatment group and the control group is 87.2%,55.0% respectively, there is obvious significance between them(P<0.01). Pathological overall improvement in the two groups were compared, the improvement of the treatment group is 76.7 %, and the control group is 47.5%, there is also obvious significance between these two group (P<0.01). It shows the treatment group was much better than the control group.CONCLUSIONS:The management of Descending Stomach Qi (JWXZT) could improve the clinical type and the quality of life of CNAG patients. JWXZT is better than Teprenone on cure chronic non-atrophic gastritis of spleen deficiency and qi stagnation type (CNAG), and it is safe with no side effect, worthy of clinical utility.
