Objectives:To investigate the mental depression status of the type A personality in patientswith hypertension,analysis the effect of style personality characteristics of type Apersonality in hypertensive patients with mental depression status and proposeappropriate countermeasures or suggestions, in order to reduce the type A personalityin hypertensive patients depression.Methods:It is survey research, using Type A Personality Inventory, Self-RatingDepression Scale, Trait Coping Style Questionnaire, Social Support Scale and selfgeneral information questionnaire from May to December in2012from NanchangUniversity Fourth Affiliated Hospital of inpatient department meet the conditions,agreed to participate in this survey of126patients with type A personality inhypertensive patients conducted a questionnaire survey.Results:1、Type A personality in hypertensive patients without depression status in74cases, accounting for59%; depression incidence of up to41%, of which38cases ofmild depression,30%; moderate depression in11cases, accounting for9%; severedepression cases, accounting for2%.2、Type A personality in hypertensive patients suffering from depression totalscore (41.66±6.530),Each dimension scores were: mental-emotional symptoms(4.16±0.961), somatic disorder (16.13±2.431), depression psychological barrier(17.15±2.893), psychomotor disorders (4.22±1.046).3、 Correlation analysis showed that: type A personality in hypertensivepatients suffering from depression and social support,positive coping overall was anegative correlation,depression and negative coping, CH, TH, CH+TH overall wasa positive correlation.4、Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that: CH, personal income,complications, hypertension grading, and positive coping,these factors are the main factors of the type A personality in hypertensive patients suffering from depressionwere found to explain the type A personality in hypertensive patients depression in41.2%, of which the influence of CH (unprovoked hostile, competition) is the largest.Conclusions:Type A personality in hypertensive patients suffering from depression is higherthan normal in patients with hypertension and are subject to a wide range ofsubjective and objective factors. Therefore, as the nursing staff should help guidepatients to establish a correct understanding of their own personality,teach patientslearn relaxation training and helping the patient to find a breakthrough from thecontrarian related health,meanwhile related health medical institutions shouldstrengthen pre-service training and continuing education of community nurses, and incommunity health service institutions in the rational allocation of a certain amount ofpsychological consultant, pay more attention to type A character of high bloodpressure patients psychological health care.
