Background:In recent years, society and economy in China were developing rapidly. Our pace of life is growing faster at an ever-accelerating rate. The pressure which we are withstanding, especially psychological pressure, is also increasing. With the competition of society becoming fierce, the majority of workers exists psychological problems more or less. There is no denying that the aggravation of psychological problems will not only result in depression, even anxiety, mania and other mental performance, but also cause the occurrence of disease of various body systems, the cardiovascular system is no exception. The long-lasting psychological disorders will lead to the occurrence of cardiovascular disease, such as coronary heart disease, hypertension, arrhythmia, etc. The view of psychosomatic medicine is that specific activities of psychology and emotion are closely associated with the ones of soma and physiology. Long-lasting unhealthy stimulation will lead to physical diseases. Hypertension, which is one of cardiovascular diseases, is belongs to the category of psychosomatic diseases. Authoritative research aimed at the current situation of hypertensive patients with psychological disorders is relatively insufficient so far. Thus, it is necessary to carry out the study to learn and solve this problem which will bring us positive and far-reaching significance in diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of hypertension even in other cardiovascular diseases.Objective:To investigate the incidence and the influencing factors of anxiety and depression in hypertensive patients.Methods:Enroll the hypertensive patients who were hospitalized in the department, Cardiovascular medicine, Dongzhimen Hospital Affiliated to Beijing University of Chinese Medicine during September to November2012.All of the patients were guided to fill the questionnaires of Self-Rating Anxiety Scale (SAS) and Self-Rating Depression Scale(SDS) and there basic data in order to evaluate the incidence and the influencing factors of anxiety and depression in hypertensive patientsResults:88of100questionnaires was retrieved. In all the subjects,34of88(38.64%) were suffering from anxiety or depression in varying degrees,28of88(31.82%) were suffering from anxiety,30of88(34.09%) were suffering from depression,24of88(27.27%) were suffering from not only anxiety but also depression. In all the subjects, the prevalence of only anxiety was4.55%, only depression was6.82%. In male patients, the prevalence of anxiety and depression were respectively4.55%and13.63, this rate in female were respectively27.27%and30.68%. The independent risk factors of the prevalence of anxiety were female, long history of hypertension, poor controlling of blood pressure level, suffering from coronary heart disease, diabetes, hyperlipidemia and phlegm. The independent risk factors of the prevalence of depression were long history of hypertension, poor controlling of blood pressure level, suffering from coronary heart disease, diabetes, hyperlipidemia and phlegm. However, the other factors, including age, the grade of blood pressure, the risk stratification of hypertension, cerebrovascular disease, the history of alcohol and smoking, the family history of hypertension and the other Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) syndrome differentiation, is not the independent influencing factors.Conclusions:The prevalence of anxiety and depression in hypertensive patients is high and similar. But the prevalence of them in female is higher than that in male. Long history of hypertension, poor controlling of blood pressure level, suffering from coronary heart disease, diabetes, hyperlipidemia and phlegm were the common independent risk factors of anxiety and depression.
