Objective: To observe availability and security of electroacupuncture atNeimadian and Neiguanxue for analgesia in the extremities after chest surgery. Methods: Henan University of Science and Technology of the first affiliated hospitalby selecting between September2011and December2012of120case of patients withelective chest surgery, and divided it into acupuncture group (60cases) and drug group(60cases). The acupuncture group were treated with electroacupuncture at Neimadianand Neiguanxue; the drug group were treated with patient-controlled intravenousanalgesia(PICA). After the treatment, compares two groups of patients with the Visualanalog scale(VAS) grading, the analgesic efficacy, the safety and β–endorphincontent. Experimental data analysis applications SPSS17.0statistical analysis software, taking α=0.05, the P<0.05was considered statistically significant. Results: The VAS score of two groups in each time is lower than prior treatment, while the VAS score of acupuncture group is lower than one of drug group (P<0.01).The comparison of analgesic effect in two groups, the acupuncture group is superior. The security class in the acupuncture group is higher than that in the drug group(P<0.01). The contents of β-endorphin after surgery in both groups were increased, and theacupuncture group was superior to the drug group(P<0.01).Conclusion: The analgesic effect (2h) and safety of electroacupuncture atNeimadian and Neiguanxue are superior to the PCIA.
