ObjectiveTo investigate training for rural health care workers from these four aspects:" have to go, useful, well kept, well done "in Yu long District, Yunnan Province and the city of Hat Yai, Thailand.To analyze the shortcoming of the training for rural health care workers in Yu long District, Yunnan Province. We learn from the successful experience in the city of Hat Yai, Thailand and put forward reasonable proposals for the future training in Yu long District.MethodThis study used cross-sectional epidemiological survey research methods,on the basis of the literature review and expert advice, the paper conducted questionnaires of healthcare staff and residents survey some of rural health care workers and residents in Yu long District, Yunnan Province and the city of Hat Yai, Thailand. And also had group interviews on the administrative leaders of the two places, where we used the same questionnaires. Systematically analyzed the interviews, and raised Policy recommendations on the basis of the former work.Result1. Yu long District has developed a series of related policies for rural health care workers to "have to go" and "well kept", but the result is not satisfactory.The overall quality of health care workers in Yu long District are not high,They strongly demand for training.The unit is not scheduled all the workers to attend training, the contradiction of training contents, frequencies, time,the manners and so on, which cause health care professionals "unuseful" 2. Thailand has adopted an obligatory public service policy to encourage health care workers to the rural, who are high-quality talent. It has raised benefits and formulated preferential promotion systems to encourage the workers stay in rural areas. Strengthen of rural medical education and standardization training policies in favor of rural health care workers to be competent their work. The residents of Hat Yai City praise health care workers do very well and pleased with their medical technical and service.ConclusionChina’s medical education is not fit for the rural, and "urbanization" tendency of the flow of health care workers, which cause the health workers do not want to and stay in rural. It is lack of training and also has contradiction between supply and demand in Yu long district. It is difficult for health care workers to improve the level of medical technology and quality by training. So. after training, they are also could not do very well. In order to train the health care providers can "have to go, useful. well kept. well done",we learn from successful experiences in Thailand. We should strengthen the training, emphasis on the effectiveness of training, establish the regulatory system of training, and carry out targeted training. At the same time strengthening the rural medical education, increasing efforts to support rural remote areas and pay attention to the construction of township hospitals function.
