Background Mental health illness has become a serious threat to the residents in our country.Mental problems would become serious social problem in China.As the executors of mental health services,mental health workers are the most important resource in mental health service system.To get an in-depth study on the situation of mental health workers resources has great practical significance for the development of mental health workers.Objective To reflect the situations of mental health training and operation,provide recommendations and scientific references for the appropriate authorities,analysis the influence factors of training effectiveness and mental health work.Method Literature review was used to categorize and organize the documents,research reports and policy documents.We also made a systematic summary of the evolution of the policy and mental health service model in China.This study was carried out with self-fill questionnaires for staffs who worked in 24 township hospitals in Liujiang country town and Liucheng country town in Guangxi.We distributed 760 questionnaires and received 722 copies.Theeffective returns-rate was 95%.In the quantitative research,we analyzed statistics data of demography and its appearance characteristic,training situation,work abilities,and job satisfaction.We established the database throughout Epidata3.0 and used SPSS17.0 to analyze data.Result1.The demographic situation of rural primary health workersThe total number of respondents in 2012 was 293,included 169 males and124 females,and the average age was 44.49±13.047,the average working years were 20.90±12.545.The median monthly income was 1100 yuan,the workers' education level was mainly secondary education,and the title of mental health post was ‘no title'.The number of investigators in 2015 was 429,included 150 males and 279 females,the average age was 44.49±13.047,the average service years were 20.90±12.545.The median monthly income increased to 2000 yuan,and the overall workers' education level was ‘college' and the title of work post was ‘primary'.2.The abilities of mental health serviceThe scores of communication,implemented capacity and learning ability of rural primary mental health workers in 2015 were lower than that in 2012(P<0.05).Among them,the greatest gap of the comparing was ‘implemented capacity',and the score was 1.70;the item with smallest gap was ‘learning ability',with 0.75 points.3.The status of mental health trainingCompared with 2012,the training range of mental health was expanded in2015,but the coverage and frequency were reduced.Only 18.66% investigators had mental health training course.Secondly,the 2015 mental health training score(3.73±0.69)was slightly higher than that in 2012(3.70±0.64).Thirdly,the training courses were focus on,‘cure and rehabilitation' all the time,but the difference was that training knowledge changed from ‘medication guidance' and‘treatment' in 2012 to ‘family education' and ‘suicide prevention' in 2015.4.The situation of primary health staffs' job satisfactionCompared with 2012,the percentage of respondents who were willing to take the job of public health management dropped to 18.29% in 2015.The average proportion of time spend in mental health management was increased11.07 days per a moth,and the respondents always concern most about ‘work allowance' and ‘work risks'.The overall situation of job situation in2015(2.92±0.37)was lower than that in 2012(3.45 ± 0.46)(P<0.05),and the intentions of job transition of rural primary mental health workers were rise..Conclusion The situation of primary health talents developed rapidly in rural areas of Guangxi,but it was also faced with a serious of problems on staff turnover.The abilities of mental health service were went down.The workers' training satisfaction and training demands were increased,but a trend showed a decline in training coverage and training effect.The woekers' work-pressure was went up,while the job satisfaction was went down,and with a rise of the tendency of position transfer.
