Rescerch Of Public Space In Rural Communities Based On Social Relations System

Based on series of field research, the paper explores the street space and social qualities of Zhangwu village in Anji County, Zhejiang Province, China. Via analyzing the intrinsically relationship between its evolution of social relations system and development of public space in the community, the paper indicates the plight of the current rural planning and presents the idea of the core value of cohesion which lies in the development and continuation of social relations in rural communities. Because of the complexity and limitation of street space, the quantitative description for the public space of Zhang Wu Village is given out under the guidance of Space Syntax Theory by software. Comparing with the actual space perception, planning strategies are verified and refined into a series of specific transformation principles design instrumentalities.
