As the development of China’s automobile industry and people’s great attention to the intelligence, comfortableness and reliability of automobile, the automobile electronic industries develop rapidly. Body control system is a main branch of the automobile electronic, and it is mainly responsible for the comfortableness and intelligence of the vehicle. Controller Area Network (CAN) is a high speed and low cost serial bus system originally developed by the Robert Bosch Gmbh, which is widely used in vehicle control system.Firstly this thesis analyzes the development status of automobile electronic industry in china and the classification of automobile electronics, we briefly introduce the features and basic principle of the CAN bus and it is application in vehicle. Secondly, we give the functional and performance requirements to a body control module according to the actual needs. Thirdly, we give the circuit diagram in details and describe the circuit’s principle, and the genial design flow chart of the embedded software is given. Finally, we give the test processes of environmental test, electromagnetic compatibility test and vehicle test.The first creative point in this thesis is the combination of the high speed CAN bus of power control system and low speed CAN bus of body control system, we simplify the communication protocol and shorted the developing period, at the same time enhanc the system’s maintainability in this way. The second creative point is the control of the high power inductive load with PWM technology, we improve the electromagnetic compatibility of the vehicle and prolong the electric apparatus’life.
