Along with the fast development of modern power electronics,microprocessor technology,control theory and permanent magnet materials, Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor(PMSM) control system has accepted more and more concerns. Especially with the extensive application of Field Programmable Gates Array(FPGA), many advanced control algorithms are able to be realized,so the digital and intelligent PMSM control system becomes advanced hot topics now, and its developmental trend is inevitable.Control of digital control system of PMSM is studied in this dissertation.The mathematical model of PMSM and the control strategy of PMSM are deeply studied in this dissertation.Based on the mathematical model of PMSM,a new modeling method for the PMSM control system is proposed on PSIM.The sliding mode control(SMC) theory and field oriented control is deduced.In addition, the PWM technology commonly used is also analyzed in this dissertation.And, the PMSM vector control system simulation is studied,which this proved the advantages of the design method.Based on modeling and simulation of the(PMSM),according to the requirements of PMSM controller and the characteristics of FPGA,a design scheme of motor controller is proposed.The whole system is divided into some modules according to the modularizing design method of FPGA.This dissertation is focused on SVPWM, Park, SMC, measuring of feedback speed modules etc.Some new ideas of realization are proposed. Functional simulation is completed on the platform of Modelsim and some important modules are downloaded to the Spartan-3E development board to completed hardware verification. The results of simulation and hardware verification show that the modules can achieve its functional requirements and the motor controller has better dynamic and static performances.
