Regeneration Of Architecture Environment In University

With higher education becoming more and more mass-oriented and popular, challenges faced by universities or colleges in the facilities have arisen, that is, the existing facilities and the related resources can’t satisfy the needs of development of universities and colleges, besides, the demand for space has become more and more complicated, universities and colleges have taken measures including building new facilities or modification on the existing teaching buildings in order to meet the demands. However, as a pool of culture, newly-built teaching facilities in a university or college are found very hard to replace the old ones in terms of historical and cultural legacy, instead, to update the existing faculty buildings is the only way that every university or college shall follow in construction and development.Considering the above described conditions, this paper is designed to explore the possibilities of building more suitable space environment to meet the needs of highly object-oriented aims and varieties of teaching forms in faculties and colleges based on the re-design of the building environment space for the experimental teaching complexes of the P.E. College and the Complex Building of the Packaging College of Hunan University of Technology, aiming to solve the problems of disharmony between college or faculty complexes and the overall environment of the University Campus, to solve the functional problems of the building itself, to express the uniqueness and readability of the building itself under the overall environment of the University, thus to provide experience and reference for other universities, colleges or faculties in the re-design of buildings and courtyards. In this paper, it argues that the re-design of the space environment of the college and faculty buildings shall take all the elements including people, buildings and environment as a whole into account. As viewed from the users, it will better explore the historical legacy of the faculty buildings through study on the project status. In this paper, we also focus on the expression of cultural characteristics of the faculty architecture with a view to creating continuous development and well-balanced building environment.
