It becomes urgent problems to solve the mechanical properties of materials, more and more widely to new material application demands for various trades, with the rapid development of industrial on technology. Universal testing machine as used widely standard test equipment, it needs to test the mechanical properties of materials to the quality inspection of the various materials testing, materials research and experimental aspects of teaching. However, most of testing machines made in China are low-level ones with inadequate measuring accuracy which are not capable of carrying out complex tests. More over, the control system is not able to smoothly switch among various control speeds or make adaptive adjustments for controller parameters, due to the backward control method. With the fast development of science and technology, more and more new materials and instruments are springing up. In the mean time, research institutions, companies and technology supervision departments are placing higher and higher demands on material performance index and equipment safety. This has set up higher requirements for the measuring and control performance index of testing machines. The market needs more universal testing machines with high-quality controlling performance.On the basis of fully grasp a large amount of information of testing machine, the systemic hardware was put up and the software was designed for the digital system utilized pressure sensor, extensometer (have another name:strain gauge) and the displacement sensor measure every test data, adopted FIFO buffer memory technology and realized the gathering in real time automatically of the test data; The system also utilized the memory of the test data, controlled the flux and the oil pressure with the electro-hydraulic proportion developing platform of virtual instrument LabWindows/CVI’s strong function on the software, the system adopted the method of module design and realized the signal measuring, the dynamic curve showing and the test data analysis correctly.This project is focused on the measuring and control system of electronic universal testing machine, and the research is based on virtual instrument. It was used various meta land nonmetal materials test to electronic universal testing machine, according to national standards, it completed real-time measurement and display, real-time control and data analysis, result out and report printing and other functions. This project is in line with the trend of the development of universal testing machine, therefore it has practical significance.
