EAM (Enterprise Asset Management) System places a priority on the enterprise assetmanagement, and provides the full information concerning the enterprise equipment assetsoperation renovation and maintenance conditions through the entire life cycle by means ofscientific and normative management mode and process. With the support of resourcessharing and computer information tools, EAM is able to improve the utilization rate ofenterprise equipment assets, and to reduce the equipment operation maintenance cost.Based on EAM system, the traditional equipment and material management is transformedinto the information-based approach, which has the capacity of tracking the equipment andmaterial management activities, revealing the running status, difficulties and costs, as wellas providing a scientific basis for equipment and material management.The thesis analyses the current situation of the airport equipment and materialmanagement, and investigates the existing problems. The literature about the applicationof EAM system in airport equipment and material management is reviewed. The mainobjective of the implementation of an EAM system in the airport equipment is analyzed.The management mode of applying the EAM system to the airport equipment and materialmanagement is investigated. The principle of selecting the suitable application mode isalso proposed. By analyzing the concept of the EAM-based workflow model, theEAM-based workflow model for the equipment asset management is established. Then,the proposed model is applied in a case study. The contents and characteristics of airportequipment assets management is first analyzed, helping to reveal the current situation ofthe airport equipment asset management. Then, the main checking-points in the airportequipment asset management are identified. The related EAM-based workflow model isalso conducted, as well as the implementation effect analysis. Results indicate that thework efficiency of the equipment management can be improved by applying the EAMsystem to the airport asset management. Meanwhile, in this way, the equipmentmaintenance cost can also be reduced, the quality control of the equipment assetmanagement can be strengthened, and the enterprise’s core competitiveness can also begreatly enhanced.
