The Application And Research Of "Slow Design"Concept In The Rapid Urbanization

"Slow design" originated from the conception of product design in western country,which is the symbol of the designer to think again about the value of design. The "Slowdesign" is a mode, through establishing a relative constant lifestyle, to solve the currentproblems in the city when a city’s economic level develop to a certain stage, the city’s socialstructure, the pursuit of material life and spiritual needs all had changed in essence. From amacro point of view, slow design focus on having good command of the truth of designconcept, not the methods of design. And with the trend of city growing, a healthy, peacefuland stabilizing modern urban is a habitat which people expect. The town’s social attributedetermines the urban collective, which needs a strong, stable social relationship net, and theinner and outer quality of city support this net.The article‘s point is the developing rational choice in the modern urban, and thebasis discussing is the application and value of "slow design" in the rapid urbanization.Around this theme, taking more attention to the background of urbanization’s elements;researching literature review which is related on "slow design "; though analysis andsummary of the domestic and foreign case’s success, making the index to support the "slowdesign" concept. Secondly, define "slow design" connotation, characteristics and specificindicators of evaluation system. Finally, using Kangbashi of Ordos for a case, talk about theplanning of public service facilities, urban color and culture space design, drawing a correctvalue orientation for the future development of towns.
