The Research On Design Strategies Of Refurbishment Of Existing Buildings According To The Idea Of Sustainability

The reuse of existing building refurbished is an important issue which shouldbe faced during the period of urban development, which can also save energy andresources. The strategies of refurbishment guided by the idea of sustainability arebeneficial for a win-win situation of environment, economy and society. Thisdissertation illustrated the sustainable strategies of refurbishment of three sorts ofexisting building according to building lifecycle by the research methods of fieldinvestigation, case study and induction. Based on the strategies and theoriesachieved by the research, the author analyzed the design scheme of refurbishmentof Bishan Memorial Temple with critical thinking.
