A Study On Modern Historic Building Refurbishment Technology

The paper discussed the project by systematic method and emphasized the comprehensive knowledge of the research. In every chapter of the paper, the author discussed different part of the problem and made conclusion with a practical project. Issue oriented is the other research method.In the 1st chapter, the author suggested the importance and aim of the issue. It is a developing process for us to recognize the concept of historic building or heritage building. In different period we have different idea about the concept of historic building that we can find in international heritage protection charters. This paper summarized these international charters in different period and statute of our country, and suggests the concept of historic building. It also suggests the importance to restore modern historic building and how to restore them.The value of historic building has been studied for a long time. We had deepen understanding about this than ever before. It is not enough for us to evaluate a historic building form art value, history value and science value, we need evaluate a historic building's value form architectural history value, science value, culture value, context value, usable value and integrity, even more of them. This paper suggests a detailed set of evaluation criteria for heritage building, an evaluation process that could systematically assess information and assign a numerical score to each building.The meaning of historic building restoration is not only research how to detect and identify the current status of the buildings and reinforce them, but also to establish the theory of standardization restoration system based materialism. It should be a dynamic, legal, standard and continuous develop process. We should research the project by a systemic way of analysis and synthesis.To the project of historic building refurbishment, the information of the building and environment must be gained by means of investigation and detection. Evaluation of the building can be made by means of structure mechanics, structure dynamics and structure reliability analyse. Reliability analyse of the historic building can be made consult the state civil and industry criterion. Brief explanation has beensuggested in the 2~nd and 3~rdchapter.The specialties of the restoration reinforcement and reconstruction of historic building, is protection authenticity of the buildings. The method we used to restore historic building, must obey the basic authenticity protection rule that the international charters prescribed. New material and new technology we used must bring up the quality of the project. This paper summarizes the new technology we used recent years in the field of historic building restoration. The 4th chapter has particular discussion about this.The 5th chapter was an instance about Wuhan Gude Temple restoration project.
