Signal-Oriented ATS (Automatic Test System) is the development tendency of ATS.Describing testing resources by using Signal-Oriented method is the key to achieve testsoftware instrument independence, and is of great significance for solving the ATS’sversatility, openness and portability of test software.This thesis describes the architecture of a Signal-Oriented ATS software platform.The system software uses the IEEE1671Automatic Test Markup Language (ATML) andreferences the IEEE1641Signal and Test Definition (STD) specification to describeSignal-Oriented resources in the system. Based on the research of the Signal-OrientedATS, this thesis describes the research and design of several important modules. Themain contents are as follows:1. The author researched STD standard, designed and developed a graphical signalmodeling and simulation tool. This tool is used to create new TSF signals throughgraphical method and demonstrates whether the new TSF signal satisfy the user’srequirement from simulation function. These TSF signals are saved to the TSF signallibrary instance documents in the format of XML.2. The author researched ATML test description standards, and developed a flowTPS development environment. This software can be used to create test strategythrough graphical method and edit test requirements through graphical method. Thissoftware save them to XML test description instance document. Test codes can beautomatically generated by the code generation software from the test descriptioninstance document without programming.3. The author researched and designed IVI-Signal driver. First, the authorimplemented STD components of signals that are defined according to STD standard,and these signal interfaces are used as IVI-Signal driver’s Signal Interface. The authoralso designed IVI-Signal driver referencing IVI-MSS specification to achieveSignal-Oriented interchangeability of instruments.
