Chongqing is located in the east of Sichuan Basin and the upper reaches of theChangjiang River. The city is the industrial concentration of southwest and the capital ofmotorcycles and cars. By the policy of Chongqing the twelfth five-year plan, a largenumber of automobile and motorcycle factories have been building on. Though theindustrial production has brought in huge economic benefits, it also result in manyenvironment problems at the same time. In addition, many companies are difficult inenrolling workers because of the high strength and pressure work and the improvementof workers’ self-worth. These are main cause by improper factory design, lacking of theproduction process and the needs of workers. So, the urgent need of the motorcycleindustrial building design is to provide a comfortable working environment and keepthe worker’s health so as to improve the work efficiency according to excellent design.Motorcycle factories are usually very huge because of the industrial production,they often need skylights for side windows alone cannot meet the needs of the indoorlighting. Skylight is the main ways which buildings get natural light by, a properskylight design can not only provide a comfortable indoor light environment, reduce thelighting energy consumption, but also reshape the inner space and create a expressivearchitectural style. The research found that most skylights design of motorcyclefactories in Chongqing were flawed, which made the indoor lighting and heatingenvironment uncomfortable. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to optimize theskylights in order to improve the inside physical environment and enrich the facade, sothat architecture energy consumption can be reduced and production efficiency can beimproved. This paper relies on the school-enterprise cooperation project “Research onthe key technology of inside healthy LED lighting production of low-level high-lightfactory basic on the biological effects of light”(Project ID:1042012920120907) andprovides basic data for it. The paper is basic on Ergonomics, analysis the influence ofskylight on indoor physical environment, architectural space and form. Taking askylight optimize design of a large motorcycle assembly factory as example, proposinga differentiated design strategies for huge industrial buildings, so as to give someadvises on skylight design of this type of factories in Chongqing area.The paper is divided into six chapters.ChapterⅠ, introduction. A general expression on background, significance, thesis scope, contents and methods of this paper.ChapterⅡ, study on the Ergonomics and application on the skylight design offactory. Analysising the relationship among human, machine and environment, theeffect of physical environment, inside space, architectural forms on workers’ physiologyand psychology, the application of skylight on natural lighting, shaping space andenriching fa ade, so as to find out the relationship and influence among factory,environment and skylight.ChapterⅢ,investigation on motorcycle assembly factory in Chongqing. Accordingto the investigation on several large industrial park and interviews on workers, graspingthe basic information about skylight, the situations of inside physical environment,understanding the working feeling and demanding on workplace, summarizing theproblems need to be solved at once the reasons which result in these problems, so as toproviding a realistic basis on the post-optimal design.Chapter Ⅳ, skylight optimization strategy basic on Ergonomics. Analysisingposition, light material, Ac/Ad, arrangement and types of skylight through simulatesthe physical environment of assembly factory. By the perspective of ergonomics,summing up a skylight optimize design of a large motorcycle assembly factory whichmarches up the climate of Chongqing nicely. Strategy of skylight design isdifferentiation and diversification, which comes from the production process, the needof workers and function of plan.ChapterⅤ, a comprehensive assessment and optimize design on skylight ofassembly factory. Taking the skylight optimization strategy in the fourth chapter as aguidance, re-design the skylight according to plane functions, production flow lines,visual requirement and working feeling. Simulating the physical environment ofassembly factory after optimize design and contrast on the one before, the paper findout that as long as architects design skylight correctly, it will meet natural lighting andassist natural ventilation, finally improve the physical environment and achievebuilding energy conservation.Chapter Ⅵ, make a conclusion and outlook on skylight design methods ofChongqing motorcycle factories.
