The auto industry appeared since the end of19th century, and acquired a high-speeddevelopment with the large scale production in form of Ford assembly line at thebeginning of the20thcentury, and the Toyota Production System and Lean Productionbrought the auto industry into the new period of development. For China, the auto industry has obtained a huge development into21st century. Asthe heart of the auto, our engine industry has acquired an amazing progress, fromsmall to large, form weak to strong since the30years of reform and opening-up.However, it also exist many defects, such as lack of key technology independentintellectual property rights, technological backwardness, scattered small productionscale, low productivity, unstable quality, high energy consumption per unit of product, and poor profitability.Toyota Production System(TPS)is suitable for the Japanese national conditions, which is created by Toyota Motor Corporation of Japan through improving theAmerican large scale production, and owners the strong adaptability to the market andprofitability. The success of Toyota in America illustrates that the TPS is not onlyadaptable to Japan market but also to different cultural background and nationalconditions and has the universal adaptability. This research is based on industrial engineering disciplines, and combination oftheory and knowledge related to industrial engineering, Toyota Production Systemand lean production, in order to break through the academic perspective on whichmost scholar is used to be based, to make the plant design or enterprise managementin form of Lean Production, and combines with many years of field work practice, tries to make the corporate planning with the Toyota production system and leanmanufacturing. In the plant design phase the author designs a line layout that adapts to the ToyotaProduction System and lean manufacturing production with CAD, CAM andComputer simulation technology, which can meet production requirements ofvarieties, small-volume and standardization and designs a logistics way to meet theToyota JIT, balanced production. In the practical production, how to use the methods and tools of industry engineeringto eliminate waste, reduce costs, improve efficiency in order to achieve profitabilitytarget.
