Study On Tourism Environmental Carrying Capacity Of Tao Ran Pavilion Tourist Destination In Beijing

In the early stage of development, there is such a point of view: the tourismindustry is a sunrise industry. It has less damage to the environment, the shorterpayback period and the higher income. However, with the rapid growth of the tourism,the continuous expansion of tourist market and the increasing size and scope oftourism activities, the impact of tourism on the destination environment is graduallyobvious year by year. In order to accurately measure the relationship and scientificallymanage the impact, the paper introduces the concept of tourism environmentalcarrying capacity (TECC).Tourism environmental carrying capacity is a concept to describe the tourismactivity strength which the tourist destination can withstand. It is the threshold oftourism environment system supporting destination tourism activities. It must neitherdestroy the physical environment, economic environment and social-culturalenvironment, nor weaken the satisfaction of tourists. TECC is the largest number oftourists in a destination. It is determined by the elements of space, time, type oftourism activities, tourism activity intensity and so on.First, the paper elaborates the concept and features of the tourism environmentalcarrying capacity. It selects the Beijing Tao Ran pavilion tourist destination as thestudy area. Then it analyses the condition of resources and social-economic of TaoRan pavilion tourist destination. Through the empirical analysis to get tourists’impression of the Beijing Tao Ran pavilion tourist destination. On this basis,combined with the real situation of the destination, this paper builds the index systemto measure the tourism environmental carrying capacity of Tao Ran pavilion. Finally,on the basis of the calculation results，the paper put forward related proposals topromote the TECC of Tao Ran pavilion tourist destination.
