Rapid Urbanization Induced LUCC In The Southern Mountainous Region Of Jinan City

The land is closely related to human production and life. While the problem of global population, resources and the environment become increasingly prominent, land use and land cover (LUCC) has become one of the key research topics in the international society. This paper took Jinan’s southern mountainous region as the study area, by using vector data from1987to2009as basic data, reshapes and merges sort data with ARCGIS. The land of Jinan’s southern mountainous region is classified into six categories, that is, cropland, construction land, forestland, grassland, water, unused land. By using land use dynamic degree, land use degree comprehensive index and land use transition matrix, this paper analyzed the LUCC of Jinan’s southern mountain region. By using landscape pattern indexes, landscape patterns of different time in the study area are probed in the class-level index and landscape-level index separately. Meanwhile, study on the gradient change characteristics of landscape in Jinan’s southern mountain region in the process of city expansion, taking urban centers extend to5km for the center and the expansion5km for a gradient,8gradients. Finally, this paper analyzed the impacts of land use and land cover change in the study area. By calculating ecosystem service value in all and each gradient, the paper concluded the main land use types that affect the ecosystem service value of Jinan’s southern mountain region. The main contents and contributions of this dissertation are as follows:This paper analyzed the LUCC spatiotemporal variation in Jinan’s southern mountain region with the spatial analysis function of ArcGIS.(1) The area of construction land increases but the area of cropland decreases, from1987to2009. The cropland transfers to the construction land.(2) The total change trend of the grassland is increasing.(3) The change of water area is not obvious.(4) The area of woodland increases firstly and then decreases but the total change trend is increasing.(5) The area of unused land is increasing.According to analysis of dynamic degree of land use, in all durations the area of construction land and grassland decrease the most and the area of cropland and woodland increase the most between2005and2009.Over the same time, the land use dynamic degree and land use degree index are increasing.The paper analyzes the landscape features of Jinan’s southern mountain with the Fragstats software. The dominant landscape is the cropland; the fragmentation and heterogeneity of forestland are increasing; the fragmentation of grassland increases while the area of grassland decreases. According to the gradient, the area of cropland has peak value,25km far away from the city zone; the area of construction land decreased as the distance to the center of the city increased; the area of forestland has peak value,20km far away from the city zone; the change of water area is not obvious as the distance to the center of the city increased but the average patch area decreased with the time passing; the area of grassland has peak value,20-25km far away from the city zone; the biggest patch area and the average patch area have peak value,30-35km far away from the city zone. According to landscape level, in5-20km the contagion index gradually lowers and the same time the landscape diversity index, landscape evenness index, landscape isolation index and fractal dimension are gradually increase, reached its maximum in20km. The degree of landscape fragmentation, the landscape types and the evenness of patch types are increasing.Land use and land cover is closely related to the ecological environment during the period of rapid urbanization. In order to cause people’s attention to the protection of natural resources, this paper study on the valuation that ecosystems provided for humanity by using ecosystem service value. The main ecosystem service values of Jinan’s southern mountain consists of cropland and woodland, which is reach above85%of total ecosystem service values. The total ecosystem service values of Jinan’s southern mountain are decreasing year after year between1987and2009, and the area of woodland has peak value,25km far away from the city zone. That the increase area of forestland and water which have greater ecosystem service function and value is smaller do not compensate for the decrease of ecosystem service function and value which bring by the increase of construction land area and the decrease of cropland area. The increase of woodland ecosystem service value is the biggest in6land use types.In the end, this paper summarizes the production and the lack, as well as the further research directions are predicated.
