In this paper, according to McClelland Professor of competence for the theoreticalfoundation, discusses the concept of competence, development,and the definition ofcompetence; Competency Model definition, building methods, and generic competencymodel; recalled both at home and abroad Competency Model representative andrepresentatives of opinion, and to study the model of competence in human resourcesmanagement;according to the authors of this paper focuses on the logical framework ofthe art design’s talents’ Competency Model in Retail industry.The domestic retail competition is becoming increasingly fierce, more and more retailmanufacturers began to give up the way of putting price as sells’ advertising theme, andbegan to sell their own retail image, implement from "short-term incentive" prices leadingto pay attention to "long-term investment" image leading, began to emphasize thecustomer’s physical sense, gradually from the traditional "price war" to "experiential"marketing. The realization of "experiential" marketing needs the help of sell advertising’sdesign, display, so the art design talents in retail industry are particularly important. In thispaper the author want to focus on the art design’s talents’ Competency Model in Retailindustry, based on this research to select and train the relative person, enable to let theenterprises to adapt to the new market competition environment, and finally to help thecompany to realize the enterprise strategic planning.This research through the analysis of current situation of art design talents’ post inretail industry, summarizes the current problem of art design talents’ post in retail industry,for this problem the authors put forward the corresponding improvement and set up the artdesign’s talents’ Competency Model in Retail industry. According to the interview of HRmanager and marketing manager in commercial property, department stores, supermarkets, finally build the art design’s talents’ Competency Model in Retail industry using themethod of a questionnaire survey and expertpanel discussions and so on. Including:professional knowledge, innovation ability, information collecting ability, the sense ofresponsibility, target consciousness, communication skills, planning arrangement, agilestrain, etc.
