Nowadays,the supply-side reform driven by national continuous technology innovation has generally changed the publication ecosystem and publication marketing system.In this New Retailing Era,the trend of platformization overall retail sectors contribute to the features of consumer behavior,which change rapidly and diversely.Physical bookstore,as the tail end of the publication marketing system and the physical space interacting with consumers,is rightly in the process of comprehensive upgrades.This type of upgrading online and offline integrated physical bookstore,which the author addresses as New Retail Bookstore.To cope with the dynamics of multisided operation strategies and service contents,it is necessary that the competency of managers in the New Retail Bookstore should be redefined.In the context of retailing,prior competency approaches mainly focus on convectional aspects of management and operation rarely includes about first-line managers in publishing industry,which cannot completely satisfy the competency needs of transformation and upgrading.While this paper put more emphasis on factors aiming at decentralizing innovation and mobilizing cocreation of values.Considering the scope of business and innovation level,the thesis empirically picks physical bookstores of L Publishing Group,branding as X Bookstore,as the research object.In this survey,which is performed adequate literature research,job analysis as well as behavior event interviews in the field for feature extraction and conduct extensive analysis upon 238 valid questionnaires collected from bookstore employees working for the L Publishing Group.In this paper,it is proposed that a novel evaluation criterion of competency of New Retail Bookstore Managers consisting of 6 categories and 23 indexes.Through reliability and validity analysis and validate,the competency model is formalized by 6 categories,which are personal qualities,potential of development,knowledge and ability,management skills,business capacity and marketing extending.And aggregate indicators characterizing the preference of X New Retail Bookstore,such as acquisition of the information,all-media propaganda,event marketing which take account of economic benefit and social benefit,adaptive capacity of diversified business,online business and out-store business expanding and so on.This thesis mainly focuses on the competency model of New Retail Store Manager of X Bookstore Co.,Ltd.,to design a set of measurable index weight and measure.In order to explore the key applications based on the model in the enterprise human resources,it is designed that 4 applications which based on the competency model,guiding the recruitment and training of compound talents,and facilitating a more diversified KPI and Individual Development Plan.It is also important that the research and analysis methods in practice in this study also provide an early exploration for the competency analysis of practitioners in other industries and departments in the context of new retail.
