Based on domestic and foreign research about compentence,this paper outlines the competency related academic knowledge principle.Through visiting Esprit stores,interviewing with sales,purchasing guide,questionnaire investigation and expert scoring scoring table and other methods,the writher construct the competency model of Esprit.This paper's research method is mainly empirical,qualitative and quantitative.Qualitative research is to encode of collected interviews in key event interview,by comparing excellent performance and ordinary performance behavior,the writer refines 21 the competency items;quantitative research through the collection of 157 copies of the Esprit clothing company store staff survey,analying by SPSS software to collect data,further these 21 competency items into five factors.And then by using of AHP method for validity AHP give different weight to each factor,in order to finish constructing complete competency model.On the study,the author finds that the competence of Esprit clothing company is divided into five parts,such as personal quality,business skills,the ability to establish social network,personal achievement desire and team spirit.The complete competency model includes: 21 ability items,which has equal weight and dimension.Force model based development theories and methods of competence at home and abroad,combined with the AHP method for the factors are weighted and suitable for the development of Chinese garment industryl,to provide more practical guidance for Esprit's shop and other front-line staff,to provide a solid ground for the company to establish performance evaluation of human resource,to guide allocation strategy,salary adjustment and optimization,optimization,improvement of personnel occupation development and other human resource field.
