New products research and development (R&D) is the power source for corporations’ development. Under the trend of economic globalization, the competition environment has big change, the change get more aggravating with the market subdivision, diversification and complication, the new produce development get more and more important under the situation, it has become the core strategy in corporation. In the early of1990s, the project management has been introduced into new produce R&D, but we did a little of theory study on the project management for new product R&D, has less experience. There have lots of problems when the corporations introduce the project management into new product R&D.The paper starts from the study of situation and problems for project management, base on the analysis of project management for base station antenna (BSA) R&D, combining the R&D project management and the modern project management together, and applying it into BSA R&D to solve problems.The paper addresses whole project development process for BSA R&D base on the characteristics of R&D project management, and use process management method to find out the optimized solutions for BSA R&D project management.
